Joan's hand-built clay creations are shaped by her love of the rugged Southwest landscape - craggy rocks and boulders and intense blue sky. Inspired by a broad range of cultures from Asian to the American Southwest, her sculptures and clay vessels incorporate the earth's rich palette into the glorious substance that is clay.
Joan's (Rosie the Riveter) metal work is welded and forged from found objects as well as "new steel" and is designed to be striking - sometimes whimsical - and always a statement of her artistic passions.
