Lana has had a lifetime fascination with rocks. Raised in the high Sierras, and mineral-rich Nevada/Arizona/Wyoming/California, she was the kid who always came home with pockets full of rocks. Lana had her first piece of turquoise jewelry at the age of three.
Although not of Native American descent, she was raised around reservations and has always loved Indian jewelry. Art has always been an integral part of Lana’s “spirit” life. As a child Lana spent hours alone in the forest communing with nature and the wildlife around her. She has always felt a connection with the earth and that is reflected in her art. Lana says of her art, “What I make is created in love and that love is passed on to the person who wears or uses the piece.”
