4th Friday Prescott Art Walk
Barry Golden – “Local Wood Works”
Friday, March 26 through April 21
Arts Prescott Cooperative Gallery is excited to present our guest artist Barry Golden who makes functional art from natural wood!
Artist’s Statement
I enjoy taking a beautiful piece of wood, especially wood that I have cut and collected from Prescott National Forest, and make something beautiful and functional. Cutting boards, spoons, stirrers, salad sets, and chopsticks are some of the items I make. All carving of spoon bowls is done by hand with a wedge and mallet. I take pride in my work and always strive to make a utensil that I would like to use.
I have sold my work mainly at the Prescott Farmers Market, as well at several seasonal events in the Phoenix area: Anthem for Octoberfest, Litchfield Park in December for their Christmas Parade, and the Arts and Crafts Show.
Meet the artist on Friday, March 26 with an Art Walk reception for Barry on Prescott’s 4th Friday Art walk from 5 to 8pm.
Refreshments will be served (Covid-19 approved!). Live music provided by the talented flutist Larry Hansen.
The show runs from March 26 through April 21.
The gallery is open daily from 10am – 5pm. Hand sanitizer available / FACE MASKS are required at this time for the safety of our artists and community while we follow recommended guidelines.
