4th Friday Prescott Art Walk
Judy Wegenast – “A Western Flair”
Friday, April 22 through May 25
Arts Prescott Cooperative Gallery is excited to present the beautiful pastel and oil artwork created by our guest artist Judy Wegenast!
Judy’s show depicts the people, animals, and landscape of the west. Each piece tells a story reflecting the western way of life.
“Art brings much joy to my life, and I hope that you experience that joy when viewing my pieces.”
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
My art is a Composite of Realism and Impressionism. The illusion of reality is created by using the compositional skills of color, tone, line, value, and lighting to make the most of the subjects in each painting.
Using the elements of design and composition, I express how I see and feel about life. My work reflects my varied interests from landscapes to figures.
In the late 1990’s I began to pursue formal training and mentoring in art. As a result of encouragement by mentors and teachers, I began to take workshops and increased my choice in mediums to include pastel, and oil.
Education and Training:
My education and training have included workshops and courses at the Drawing Studio in Tucson Arizona, the Mesa Center for the Arts in Mesa, Arizona, the Scottsdale Artists School in Scottsdale Arizona, and Dakota Art Pastel in Mount Vernon, Washington. I also take private lessons from artists I admire. My main emphasis is on design, composition, and structure.
Location(s):
My studios located at 26822 Oraibi Drive in Buckeye, Arizona. I share this lovely space with my husband Jerry and golden retriever Bailey.
Meet the artist on Friday, April 22nd with an Art Walk reception for Judy on Prescott’s 4th Friday Art walk from 5 to 8pm.
Snacks & beverages will be provided. Live music presented by Larry Hansen on flute!
The show runs from April 22 through May 25.
The gallery is open daily from 10am – 6pm.
